Process of Root Canal Therapy

If you experience any of the following symptoms, you may need a root canal:

Each of your teeth contains dental pulp, a soft centre that provides nutrients to the tooth, and nerves that extend to the tooth’s root. Deep decay, repeated dental procedures, chips and cracks, or trauma can injure or infect the dental pulp.

When injury or infection occurs, the nerves in your tooth die. To prevent your entire tooth from dying, root canal therapy repairs this damage.

During a root canal, your dentist will drill an opening into the tooth’s crown to reach the pulp chamber.

Then, we will either reshape or remove the diseased pulp in your tooth, and then seal the canal.
